The Duo Kallisté brings together violinist Frédéric Moreau and pianist Patrick Zygmanowski. Their partnership is built on years of shared music-making and a common grounding in the French conservatoire tradition.
Formed by violinist Frédéric Moreau and pianist Patrick Zygmanowski, the Duo Kallisté embodies one of the finest expressions of contemporary French chamber music. Brought together by a rare artistic bond, the two musicians share the same exacting standards, a common sensibility and a path forged at the highest level of the European tradition.
Remarkably, both received the same training at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, where they earned a master’s and a doctorate at the end of the institution’s most selective soloist programme. This shared lineage nourishes a deeply coherent reading of the great works of the repertoire.
Between piano and violin, the dialogue reaches a rare intensity: clarity of line, shared breath, a constant search for musical truth.
Duo Kallisté
Violin and piano meet as equal partners. Shared phrasing, close listening and the freedom of live performance shape an intimate approach to chamber music.
Their recording devoted to Mozart, Beethoven and Brahms traces a path from Classical balance to Romantic expression. Their projects also open a dialogue with the visual arts, including the paintings of Eunju Park.
Repertoire & artists
A world to explore.
Mozart · Beethoven · Brahms
Their collaboration finds a natural extension in a recent recording devoted to three pillars of the repertoire, which on their own trace the duo’s stylistic arc: Mozart’s classical grace and balance, Beethoven’s dramatic tension, Brahms’s romantic depth.
Praised for its elegance and artistic maturity, the album reflects the culmination of work nourished by years on stage and a shared vision of interpretation.
Frédéric Moreau
More than a hundred concerts a year and an acclaimed virtuosity. Invited as a soloist by the Munich Symphony Orchestra, the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra and the National Philharmonic of Kyiv; musical director of Les Violons de France and a fervent advocate of Paganini.
Patrick Zygmanowski
Depth of playing, expressive power and musical intelligence. From Mozart to contemporary composers, with a particular affinity for Beethoven, Brahms and Schumann; a sought-after chamber musician who gives teaching an essential place.
Beyond the notes
Music that brings people together.
Present on French and international stages, the Duo Kallisté regularly takes part in cultural and charitable initiatives. It recently gave a benefit concert at La Chaudronnerie in La Ciotat for the association Actions pour l’Autisme Asperger, reflecting a vision of music that unites artistic rigour, sharing and commitment.
