Duo Kallisté

Frédéric Moreau, violin · Patrick Zygmanowski, piano

The duo

A rare bond, the same school

Duo Kallisté, formed by violinist Frédéric Moreau and pianist Patrick Zygmanowski, embodies one of the finest expressions of contemporary French chamber music. Bound by a rare artistic kinship, the two musicians share the same standards, a common sensibility and a path forged at the highest level of the European tradition.

Remarkably, both trained at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, where each earned a master's and a doctorate at the end of the institution's most selective soloist programme. This shared lineage nourishes a deeply coherent reading of the great works of the repertoire.

Between piano and violin, the dialogue reaches a rare intensity: clarity of line, shared breath, and a constant search for musical truth.

Their collaboration finds a natural extension in a recent album devoted to three pillars of the repertoire that trace, on their own, the duo's stylistic arc: the grace and classical balance of Mozart, Beethoven's dramatic tension, the romantic depth of Brahms.

Praised for its elegance and artistic maturity, the album marks the culmination of work nourished by years on stage and a shared vision of interpretation.
