Terms and Conditions of Sale and Use

1. Identification

The DfinA Vault service, available at dfina.org, is published and operated by the individual enterprise whose official registered name is "DFINA ORGANISATION", registered in Georgia under identification number 305824365, with registered office at Saburtalo district, Bakhtrioni street, N 22, building N 75, Tbilisi, Georgia. Contact: support@dfina.org.

2. Purpose

DfinA Vault provides a technical timestamping and proof-of-existence service for a digital fingerprint. The service attests that a cryptographic fingerprint (SHA-256) corresponding to a file existed at a given date, by anchoring it on the Bitcoin blockchain via an open protocol.

3. Service description

  • The file's fingerprint is computed locally, in the user's browser. The file is neither transmitted, read, nor stored by DfinA Vault.
  • Only the fingerprint (a 64-character string), a date and a reference are processed.
  • A certificate (PDF) and a proof file (.ots) are delivered to the user, along with instructions for independent verification.

4. Price and payment

Prices are shown in the applicable currency on the Pricing page. Payments are processed by Paddle.com, acting as Merchant of Record: Paddle is the seller for the transaction, collects payment, issues the invoice and handles applicable taxes (notably VAT) according to the user's country. By completing a purchase, the user also accepts Paddle's terms applicable to the transaction.

5. Delivery

After payment confirmation, the certificate and the proof file are made available and sent to the email address provided. The proof is usable immediately; full confirmation on the blockchain generally occurs within a few hours.

6. Right of withdrawal and refund

The user consents to immediate performance of the service. As long as the certificate has not been generated and the fingerprint has not been submitted for anchoring, a refund is possible under the conditions described in our refund policy. Once the certificate is issued, the service is deemed fully performed.

7. User obligations

  • The user warrants a lawful use of the service and remains solely responsible for the content corresponding to the fingerprint.
  • The user refrains from any fraudulent use, any attempt to deceive a third party, and any certification linked to illegal content.

8. Limits of the service and of liability

  • DfinA Vault stores no file, does not check the content, and certifies neither the legality, the intellectual property, nor the legal authenticity of the content.
  • The service replaces neither notary, lawyer, nor public authority, and guarantees no legal outcome. It provides technical proof of existence, which may be used as one element among others.
  • To the extent permitted by law, DfinA Vault's liability is limited to the amount paid by the user for the service concerned.

9. Right to refuse and suspend

DfinA Vault reserves the right to refuse or suspend any order or account, in particular in case of suspected abuse, unlawful use or abnormal volumes.

10. Personal data

Data processing is described in our privacy policy.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by Georgian law, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rules applicable in the user's country of residence within the European Union.

12. Changes

DfinA Vault may update these terms. The applicable version is the one in force at the date of the order.
